Once Upon a Story

It's no secret that I am a classic book lover. I had an idea in my mind for some time now: To grab my camera, take some of my vintage books, an old desk and three adorable kids into the open air for some photos. I happened to already have three adorable kids in my possession (along with a stack of vintage books). All that was missing was an old-looking desk. That was taken care of a couple of weekends ago when my sister Mel and I found this dilapidated desk at the side of the road, adorned with a "for free" sign. It must also be mentioned that my sis-in-law, Angie, provided the basket, No Frills provided the organic apples and my dad provided the field:)
"And the fox put them all in socks in Johnny Crow's garden"...
And then there's Tom Sawyer... that boy is always getting himself into trouble!
Aunt Sheryl found a vintage copy of Longfellow's Evangeline for our little Evangeline a few years ago. It was Longfellow's most famous work in his lifetime. We haven't actually read the whole poem yet as I had a notion it would be a bit complicated for Evie. However, we're currently reading Ginger Pye in which nine year old Rachel refers to how she "cries through the sad poem Evangeline". Perhaps Evie might be ready for it:)
